Armor of God

Nov 2, 2025    Scott Dent

Pastor Scott walked us through Ephesians 6:10–18, reminding us that we’re not fighting against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces that seek to distract, discourage, and divide.

He gave us a vivid picture of what it looks like to “put on the full armor of God”—from the belt of truth to the sword of the Spirit (which nearly cost him a foot in the sermon illustration!).

Each piece of armor plays a purpose, as Paul writes:

“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

— Ephesians 6:14–17 (NIV)

Let’s make it our goal to stay fully dressed for the spiritual battles ahead.

Remember—God has equipped us for victory; we just have to pick up the armor and put it on!
