Over the past few months there has been many new stories written in our local community. Some, very sad...heartbreaking and others that bring a smile to our faces. It is amazing what can happen when a community of people pull together around a common cause. Here are a few examples.
At Hillside Ave the followers of Jesus have given much time, effort and love to our local community. It started with hosting a community Truck of Treat in October. Over 450 of our community folks came out to take part and enjoy each others company. Then there were many needs at a local school that the community rallied around. Some were as simple as baking cookies, pies and brownies for a fundraiser. Another was making sure kids don't go hungry over the Christmas break. Again, the community collected food and met the needs.
Then the news came that there were some homeless kids in our local community that needed a little joy in their lives during Christmas. So the community worked together to make sure the kids had a few gifts to open during the break. There are many others stories of sharing and giving but not enough space in this short blog.
All this was done by people... for people. We all have the desire to love, to be loved and cared for, it only takes someone who is willing to listen and get involved. At Restoration we look forward to getting to serve our community with the love of Jesus Christ in 2017. Our goal this year is for our community to find a renewed hope, joy and love for life through getting to know Jesus on a personal level. This happens when we bless others...
I invite you to join one of our gathering at 2021 Hillside Ave this coming Sunday. Easter is a great time to reconsider the love that God has for all of us. Looking forward to meeting you coming weekend!
