Raising Your Ebenezer
Drawing from Joshua 1–6, this sermon explores how God uses our memories of His past faithfulness to sustain us through present brokenness and confusion. Through Rahab’s unlikely role in protecting the spies, Israel’s miraculous crossing of the Jordan, and the strange battle plan at Jericho, we see that God’s ways rarely make sense in the moment—but they are always good. Pastor Scott explains the biblical idea of an “Ebenezer,” a stone of remembrance, and challenges us to stop coming to the altar only to beg for rescue and start coming to remember what God has already done. By rehearsing God’s past miracles in our own lives, we gain courage to endure seasons of waiting, hidden sin, financial crisis, and unanswered prayers, trusting that His timing and purposes are perfect.
